This year, on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the manufacture, TAG Heuer has decided to relaunch the iconic Carrera, the original motor racing chronograph, with a range of sports chronographs powered by the Caliber Heuer 02 manufacture movement. for the anniversary (the limited edition fake watches TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Silver and Montreal) TAG Heuer presents the four new models that I describe today and which will become part of the collection. The news, however, does not end there: in September, four other novelties will follow and then close the year with two special editions: in short, we will be spoiled for choice! Today’s new models mark the beginning of a new era for the TAG Heuer Carrera. A bit of history to understand why. In 1962, the CEO of the time, Jack Heuer, learned of the legendary Carrera Panamericana race. The term Carrera, which in Spanish can refer to a course or a running race, attracted his attention: he immediately sensed that it would be the perfect name for a new timepiece. The following year, the first TAG Heuer Carrera chronographs were produced. The design reflects the awareness that legibility is paramount in racing. Passionate about modern and clean design, Jack Heuer wanted the aesthetics of the TAG Heuer Carrera chronograph to be essential and well-proportioned, features that made the watch perfect for pilots who need to be able to view the time at a glance during competitions.Today this new version of the Carrera brings the collection back to the roots of its unique history. The sports chronographs presented have shorter lugs for greater comfort and the 44 mm stainless steel case characterized by an alternation of polished and satin finishes that make the watch appear more elegant and slim. The aesthetics are also enhanced by the more integrated and slightly rounded glass. The dial of the new fake TAG Heuer Carrera has a circular satin finish and is available in deep blue with a matching ceramic bezel, light olive green with a stainless steel bezel or in one of two black versions, each with an elegant black ceramic bezel. The flange is beveled and the indexes are inclined towards the center of the dial, attracting the wearer’s gaze towards the time and allowing him to read it at a glance. The three dials are perfectly legible, as is the date window at 6 o’clock. The 9 o’clock counter now consists of the numbers 12, 4 and 8, visually balancing the minute counter at 3 o’clock. The new H-shaped bracelet it is thinner, which makes it slightly lighter and more ergonomic.
The highlight of these new sports models, in my opinion, is the black and pink gold TAG Heuer Carrera: the black ceramic bezel is embellished with a pink gold-colored lacquer, a first for luxury watchmaking, while the crown and Buttons are in 18k rose gold. The movement’s oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, is made of black PVD-coated brass with a rose gold print. This timepiece is presented on a classic black leather strap. The revisited models are powered by the Caliber Heuer 02 movement, visible through the transparent caseback, made entirely in Switzerland at the TAG Heuer manufacture in Chevenez. This movement incorporates 168 components, including a column wheel and vertical clutch, hallmarks of improved chronometry and high-quality in-house movements, and boasts an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is already available.
