Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Skeletonized Barbell Review
The advent of black ceramic was an opportunity to revisit the black rhodium-plated skeletonized dial through a galvanic treatment. Symbol of this watch, the double balance wheel is visible on both sides of the watch.
Introduced and patented in 2016, the mechanism designed by fake Audemars Piguet improves the precision and stability of the watch. The system oscillates in perfect synchrony by incorporating two rockers and two springs assembled on the same axis.
On the new version of the Royal Oak Double Skeletonized Balancer, pink gold is classically echoed on the dial by the hands and hour markers applied to the flange.
From the titanium caseback where the oscillating weight in 22k gold, also skeletonized, is visible, there is also a new engraving: “Royal Oak Double Balancier” referring to the mechanism that characterizes the watch.
Haute Horlogerie Movement
Inside this Royal Oak pulses the in-house caliber 3132 where a second balance wheel and a second balance spring are mounted on the same axis as the original, effectively increasing the mass and therefore the inertia compared to the use of a single balance wheel of the same size.
The skeletonized bridges reveal part of the rhodium-colored gearing on both sides of the watch. Skeletonized processing, an Audemars Piguet specialty since the 1930s, is a real one
art that must balance aesthetics and function.
Derived from the AP 3120 caliber, the movement is created by highly skilled skilled craftsmen who work backwards from the final design. If you cut too little in the wrong place, the appearance is ruined, but if you insist too much you risk compromising the functionality of the movement.
Price Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Skeletonized Barbell
The price is 82,200 Eur. It immediately seems high but you have to take into account the huge amount of time that the handcrafted manual work to skeletonize the movement requires. The new Royal Oak Double Skeletonized Balance Wheel is available from December 2020 but only in Audemars Piguet boutiques.
First Opinions
This Audemars Piguet must be observed in detail. It would take days to look at it to focus on them, but a true enthusiast would never tire of doing it.
Wherever you turn this Royal Oak Double Rocker, the skeletonization is always clearly visible: from the back side but also proudly in front and in the center. The openwork dial of that slate gray typical of the rhodium bath, framed by the black of the ceramic, shows an intertwining of bridges all beveled with the utmost attention.
Usually perforated dials by nature do not offer maximum legibility as that perfectly created metal mesh makes it more difficult to read the time at a glance, but for this Audemars Piguet has cleverly positioned the hour markers by detaching them on the flange and putting them in rose gold, shades that if you notice them appear wisely dosed and always spaced.
I consider it a piece for true connoisseurs. Other insights are available on the official website.
You actually make it appear so easy along with your presentation but I to find this topic to be actually one thing which I feel I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very wide for me. I am having a look ahead to your subsequent put up, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
